Samdech Techo Congratulates Azerbaijan on Independence Day, Vows Stronger Ties

PHNOM PENH, May 28, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodian Senate President and Acting Head of State Samdech Techo Hun Sen has congratulated Azerbaijan on its 108th Independence Day, pledging to deepen bilateral relations and expand cooperation between the two countries.
In a letter dated May 27 to Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, Samdech Techo praised the country’s economic progress and rising international profile, saying its achievements reflected the “unwavering dedication” of its leadership to nation‑building, improving living standards and promoting global peace.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen said Cambodia shared similar values and goals with Azerbaijan and remained committed to strengthening ties for mutual benefit.
He expressed confidence that cooperation between the two legislatures would continue to grow through exchanges of visits, sharing of experience and mutual support in international parliamentary forums.
Such collaboration, he added, would contribute to promoting peace, stability and sustainable development in both regions and beyond.
