Cambodia’s Capital Market Tops $1.26 Billion as New IPO Broadens Investment Choices
PHNOM PENH, July 3, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia’s capital market has mobilized more than $1.26 billion through securities offerings, marking steady growth in the country’s financial sector as a new $10 million initial public offering (IPO) by Borey Vimean Samnang Plc. seeks to expand investment opportunities, officials said Thursday.
Sou Socheat, Director General of the Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia (SERC), told an IPO roadshow that 30 companies have successfully raised funds via the securities market. Of these, 18 firms issued public and private bonds worth about $1.13 billion, while 12 companies listed equity securities on the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX), raising around $130 million.

Socheat said Borey Vimean Samnang’s IPO marks another milestone in expanding the number of listed companies, giving investors more choices and strengthening the capital market. “This IPO will further diversify investment opportunities for the public while contributing to the continued development of Cambodia’s capital market,” he said.
He noted that SERC has modernized the legal framework, strengthened supervision, and improved oversight to ensure transparency, efficiency, and stability. Socheat highlighted the advantages of equity investment, including dividend income, capital gains, tax incentives, and shareholder voting rights, but cautioned investors to study prospectuses carefully, stressing that stock market investments carry both opportunities and risks.
Borey Vimean Samnang, a local real estate developer, plans to issue 33.5 million shares at 1,200 riel (about $0.30) each, aiming to raise $10 million through its IPO.
