BEIJING, July 6, 2026 (KPT) — Officials said Cambodia and China have reaffirmed their commitment to deepen cooperation in innovation, digital transformation and the development of micro, small and medium‑sized enterprises (MSMEs), aiming to boost industrial competitiveness and technology‑driven growth.

A delegation from Cambodia’s Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, led by Permanent Secretary of State Nhim Khemara, visited China from July 2–3 under the Lancang–Mekong Cooperation Special Fund. The mission focused on exchanging experience and exploring new areas of collaboration in MSME development, innovation ecosystems and digital transformation.

During talks with Ke Jixin, Vice Minister of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and senior officials from the China Center for Promotion of SME Development, both sides agreed to strengthen knowledge sharing and expand practical cooperation.

The Cambodian delegation also toured leading technology and innovation institutions, including iSoftStone Information Technology, Zhongguancun Science Park, TusPark and the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center. The visits provided insights into China’s experience in building innovation ecosystems, supporting business incubation, facilitating technology transfer and commercialising research.

Officials said discussions opened new cooperation prospects in product packaging, incubation centres, digital initiatives and stronger linkages between MSME support institutions and private enterprises.

According to MISTI, the visit reinforced the longstanding Cambodia–China partnership and laid the foundation for expanded cooperation under the Lancang–Mekong framework. Enhanced collaboration is expected to improve productivity and global competitiveness of Cambodian MSMEs, supporting industrial modernisation and digital economic transformation.
