BERLIN, March 11, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia positioned itself as one of Southeast Asia’s must-visit destinations at ITB Berlin 2026, strengthening global travel industry connections and unveiling new initiatives to attract international visitors, the Cambodia Tourism Board (CTB) said Wednesday.

The three-day event from March 3–5 drew nearly 97,000 visitors and more than 5,600 exhibitors from 166 countries, reaffirming ITB Berlin’s role as a global meeting point for the travel industry.

Cambodia’s delegation — including CTB, Angkor Destination Travel, Apsara Tours, Phoenix Voyages, Hanuman Travel, Samanea Wellness Resort, VLK Royal Tourism, The Royal Sands Koh Rong, and Travel Asia A La Carte — held around 250 meetings with international partners ranging from airlines and tour operators to media and content creators.

Officials showcased Cambodia’s diverse offerings, from Angkor’s cultural heritage and vibrant local communities to pristine nature, wellness retreats and luxury island escapes. CTB CEO Kim Minea said strong interest from international buyers underscored Cambodia’s growing appeal, adding that new initiatives include a subsidy program to bring 500 travel agents on familiarization trips between May and October 2026.

Industry representatives said ITB Berlin provided a vital platform to strengthen partnerships, share updates on Cambodia’s tourism development, and highlight new products aimed at high-value, experience-driven travelers.

Delegates emphasized that building on the productive discussions and new connections made during the event, Cambodia is determined to expand collaborations that will encourage more visitors to explore its rich culture, natural landscapes and unique experiences.
