Cambodia Tourism Board Launches Location Scouting Program to Attract Global Film Productions
PHNOM PENH, April 23, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia has unveiled a new Location Scouting Program to draw international film, television and documentary projects, offering production teams hands on support to explore the country’s diverse filming potential, officials said Wednesday.
The initiative, led by the Cambodia Tourism Board (CTB), underscores efforts to position the Kingdom as a film friendly destination and strengthen its global profile through storytelling and visual exposure.

Under the scheme, CTB will cover up to five days of on the ground expenses during the scouting phase, including accommodation, transport, guide services, permits and entry fees to heritage sites and national parks.
CTB Chief Executive Officer Kim Minea said Cambodia’s mix of cultural heritage, natural landscapes, vibrant cities and world renowned historical sites makes it an attractive filming location. He cited streamlined permitting, competitive costs and a skilled workforce as further advantages.
“Film is one of the most powerful tools for promoting tourism and shaping a nation’s image,” Minea said, adding that increased production activity would generate jobs across sectors from film crews to hospitality and transport.
The program is expected to serve as a catalyst for bringing more global projects to Cambodia, boosting both national branding and local industry.
