Cambodia, ASEAN-China Association Discuss Investment Opportunities
PHNOM PENH, March 9, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia’s Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has held talks with the ASEAN-China Economic and Trade Promotion Association to explore new investment opportunities, officials said Monday.

CDC Secretary-General of Cambodian Investment Board Chea Vuthy on March 09, met Wang Tong, president of the association, and his delegation in Phnom Penh. Vuthy welcomed the visit and highlighted Cambodia’s strong investment growth in 2024 and 2025, urging the association to encourage more investment in raw material and semi-finished goods production to strengthen supply chain stability. He also called for greater investment in agriculture, including cassava, cashew, rice and plantation timber.
Vuthy noted that Prime Minister Hun Manet’s government is prioritising the development of the cashew industry, with plans to establish an integrated processing zone and provide incentives for investors.

Wang thanked the CDC for its support, explaining that the association was established in 2024 with recognition from China’s government and includes diverse Chinese companies. He said members are keen to invest in cashew processing and bonded warehouses.
Vuthy expressed optimism that the projects would soon take shape, pledging CDC’s full support in facilitating investment registration.
