PHNOM PENH, March 3, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism and the Cambodia Passenger Transport and Logistics Association are exploring measures to strengthen tourism resilience and sustain regional competitiveness amid evolving market conditions, officials said Tuesday.

Tourism Minister Huot Hak met Dr. Chhem Chomnan, President of the Association, to discuss enhanced cooperation between the ministry and the private sector body, which plays a key role in tourism transport services and cross-border logistics.

The meeting, held at the ministry, brought together 45 participants including senior officials and association representatives, underscoring a shared commitment to reinforcing public–private collaboration.

Hak praised the association’s role in facilitating tourist movement both domestically and from neighbouring countries, noting its continued cooperation during both favourable and challenging periods. “The Association has served as both a promoter and a key transport provider, helping ensure connectivity across regions,” he said.

Chhem Chomnan urged the ministry to encourage tourism operators to use the association’s transport services and integrate its ticketing system into the national tourism digital platform.

In response, Hak said the ministry would work closely with the Cambodia Tourism Association, the Hotel Association and other industry groups to strengthen linkages. He also announced plans to launch the official “Visit Cambodia” website and a national “Super App” to enhance digital connectivity and service integration.

Hak further encouraged the association to expand its membership, strengthen its organisational structure and align its action plans with the ministry’s promotional strategies. He stressed the importance of active participation in tourism marketing campaigns, including broadcasting promotional content on buses and distributing brochures on domestic and cross-border routes.
