PHNOM PENH, Feb 27, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia is exploring a new public–private partnership to boost small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) industrial growth by leveraging the nationwide distribution network of DKSH, officials said Tuesday.

Industry Minister Hem Vanndy met with a DKSH Cambodia delegation led by Suphadip Mitra to discuss how modern distribution channels could help scale up domestic production and improve market access for Cambodian-made goods.

Officials noted that while Cambodia produces thousands of local products, many SMEs struggle to meet quality, safety and compliance standards required for retail and export markets.

The proposed collaboration aims to link high-potential goods to DKSH’s distribution ecosystem, which includes about 1,500 specialists and access to nearly 28,700 retail outlets nationwide.

The ministry highlighted ongoing reforms to strengthen product registration, introduce digital verification systems and enhance compliance mechanisms to build consumer trust and competitiveness. It said the government is also prioritizing the localization of “strategic goods” to reinforce supply chain resilience and increase domestic value addition.

DKSH expressed its intention to expand cooperation with local manufacturers, focusing on four pillars: increasing local value creation, supporting SME formalization and scaling, preparing products for export, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
