Over 12,000 Join Run to Celebrate Cultural and Trade Tourism Event
PREAH SIHANOUK, Feb 23, 2026 (KPT) – More than 12,000 people took part in a mass running event in Preah Sihanouk province to celebrate the “Cultural and Trade Tourism Event,” officials said Monday.
Co-organized by the Ministry of Tourism and the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration, the run was held under the theme “Sports for Health and National Unity.” Tourism Minister Huot Hak and provincial governor Mang Sineth presided over the event.

Organizers said the run aimed to promote public well-being, encourage regular exercise, and reduce stress among participants, while also fostering national unity and solidarity.
Beyond its health and social objectives, the event sought to boost tourism and stimulate the local economy. It highlighted Cambodia’s cultural heritage, supported local businesses, and showcased the coastal city’s development through sports-driven tourism initiatives.
Officials said turnout exceeded expectations, reflecting growing public interest in combining cultural promotion with community-based sporting activities.
