PHNOM PENH, 23 February 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia and China have marked the 10th anniversary of the Cambodia-China Mobile Film Tour with a Chinese New Year event in Phnom Penh, highlighting efforts to deepen cultural and tourism exchanges and strengthen people-to-people ties.

The two-day celebration, held from 21–22 February, was presided over by Tourism Minister Huot Hak and organised by the Asian and African Language Program Center of China’s Central Radio and Television Station in cooperation with Cambodia’s Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, the Ministry of Tourism and Phnom Penh Municipality.

Senior Cambodian officials including Culture Minister Phoeung Sakona, Permanent Secretary Hap Touch and Deputy Governor Huot Hay joined the event. In a video address, An Xiaoyu, director of the Chinese organising centre, expressed gratitude for Cambodia’s cooperation and hailed the programme’s role in advancing cultural and tourism ties.

Hap Touch said the initiative was not only a commemoration of past achievements but also a bridge connecting the peoples of both countries, allowing Cambodians to better understand China through film. Tourism Minister Huot Hak praised the collaboration, describing the mobile screenings as a creative platform that enriches public knowledge in culture, tourism and entertainment.

The 10th edition of the Mobile Film Tour was hailed as a milestone in promoting Cambodia’s tourism destinations internationally. Over the past decade, the film truck has travelled across 25 provinces and cities, screening more than 300 films to an audience of over 100,000.

Officials said the event underscored the growing role of film tourism as a strategy to showcase Cambodia’s attractions and strengthen cultural cooperation with China.
