RMA Expands Ford Assembly Plant, Boosts Local Auto Parts Production in Cambodia
PHNOM PENH, 15 February 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia’s automotive industry is set for further growth as RMA Cambodia expands its Ford vehicle assembly plant and steps up local production of auto components, officials said Friday.
Industry Minister Hem Vanndy met with RMA Cambodia chief executive Ngorn Saing to discuss cooperation on enlarging the facility and strengthening domestic parts manufacturing. Vanndy praised the company’s long-term investment and urged it to integrate production with Cambodian small and medium enterprises to deepen industrial linkages.

“We need international companies like RMA to contribute to Cambodia’s industrial development,” Vanndy said, adding that the ministry and its institutions, including the Institute of Standards of Cambodia, stand ready to support the expansion.
Saing noted that RMA has played a pioneering role in setting automotive standards in Cambodia. Since 2022, the company has assembled about 16,000 Ford vehicles and is expanding its footprint from five hectares to 12. It has also begun producing components locally, starting with seats.
The minister encouraged RMA to maintain clear records of production growth and its contribution to Cambodia’s industrial ecosystem, which could help meet future market requirements and boost competitiveness.
RMA Cambodia, a subsidiary of multinational RMA Group, has operated in the country since 1992 across sectors including automotive, heavy equipment, machinery and financial services.
