Cambodia EV registrations surge 127% as charging network expands
PHNOM PENH, 13 February 2026 (KPT) – Electric vehicle registrations in Cambodia jumped 127 percent in 2025, underscoring the country’s accelerating shift toward clean transport as authorities expand charging infrastructure nationwide, officials said Friday.
Data from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport show 7,971 EVs were registered last year, up from 3,508 in 2024.

Speaking at the Electricity Authority of Cambodia’s annual review, Mines and Energy Minister Keo Rottanak said charging stations are now available in all provinces except Oddar Meanchey.
Electricity of Cambodia plans to invest an additional $10 million to expand services, while provincial administrations are being encouraged to install chargers in public areas.
EAC chairman Yim Viseth said 20 investors have been licensed to operate 80 stations with 142 units across 17 provinces. Seven provinces without licensed investors already have charging facilities, leaving Oddar Meanchey as the only province without one.
The rollout supports Cambodia’s National Policy on Electric Vehicle Development (2024–2030), aimed at promoting zero emission transport, reducing carbon emissions and attracting investment in the emerging EV sector.
