KAMPONG SPEU, Cambodia, Feb 1, 2026 (KPT) — A delegation of New Zealand investors on January 31 visited two leading Cambodian companies to evaluate whether locally made products meet standards for direct entry into the New Zealand market.

The mission was led by Kao Thach, Delegate of the Royal Government and CEO of the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (ARDB), alongside Kuy Michael, President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand.

The delegation examined production chains, quality standards and supply capacity, with the aim of assessing future import and distribution opportunities.

At Hanuman Beverages, investors toured the factory’s modern production line, reviewing technology used in beverage production and sampling locally brewed beer and drinks. The visit highlighted how the company manages production processes and maintains product quality.

The group also inspected Kirirom Food Production, focusing on the processing and packaging of turmeric mango preserve, an agro-industrial product seen as having strong export potential. Particular attention was paid to hygiene practices and food safety standards.

Officials stressed the visit was a practical assessment rather than a ceremonial tour, with investors seeking to determine whether Cambodian products can meet requirements for import, distribution and sale in New Zealand.

The inspection marks a step toward possible business cooperation that could bring Cambodian-made goods to New Zealand consumers and strengthen the international profile of the “Made in Cambodia” brand.
