Phnom Penh SEZ fuels Cambodia’s export surge to USD 31 bn
PHNOM PENH, Jan 19, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia’s exports climbed to more than USD 31 billion in 2025, with the Royal Group Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone emerging as a key driver of growth, officials said Monday.
Shipments from the Phnom Penh SEZ reached USD 2.15 billion last year, accounting for 7 percent of national exports. Zone officials said output has more than tripled since 2021, boosted by 91 manufacturing firms from 15 countries across electronics, automotive components, garments, footwear and other light industries.

Kith Meng, chairman of the board of PPSP, said the sector had recorded “strong and stable growth” over the past five years, citing diversification, improved logistics and stronger global connectivity.
Nationally, exports rose from USD 19 billion in 2021 to USD 31 billion in 2025 despite global economic headwinds. Commerce ministry spokesman Pen Sovicheat said the performance showed Cambodia’s ability to sustain buyer confidence, maintain key markets and reinforce its role in regional and global value chains.
The ministry reported total trade reached USD 65.25 billion in 2025, with exports up 17 percent to USD 31.28 billion and imports rising 18 percent to USD 33.96 billion.
