— Cambodia’s trade with China surged to more than $19.7 billion in 2025, rising nearly 30 percent from the previous year, official customs data showed Friday.

Figures from the General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) revealed that Cambodian exports to China reached $1.68 billion, down 3.6 percent from 2024, while imports from China jumped 34.3 percent to $18 billion.

Cambodia’s main exports included agricultural products, furniture, jewelry and textiles. Imports from China were dominated by raw materials for factories, consumer goods, food and beverages, vehicles, machinery, construction materials and electronics.

Lim Heng, vice president of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, said the increase reflected Cambodia’s implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and its bilateral free trade agreement with China.

Commerce Minister Cham Nimul said the government would continue to push ahead with economic and trade integration in line with its vision to strengthen existing markets and expand new ones. She added that reforms aimed at improving institutional governance and public service delivery were key to ensuring sustainable growth in the trade sector.
