PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Dec. 11, 2025) — The United States continues to be Cambodia’s largest export destination, with shipments valued at $11.5 billion in the first 11 months of 2025, up 27.1% from the same period last year, according to data from the General Department of Customs and Excise.

From January through November, bilateral trade between Cambodia and the U.S. reached $11.87 billion, a 27.7% increase year‑on‑year. Cambodian exports accounted for the bulk of the trade, while U.S. imports into Cambodia totaled $367 million, rising 50.3%.

Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, first vice chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, said the country has emerged as a leading growth market for investment over the past two years. He noted that Washington’s August 1 decision to apply a 19% tariff on Cambodian goods gives the country a competitive edge over regional rivals, helping sustain existing factories and attract new investment.

Jay Tech, a socio‑economic researcher, told Cambodia News that the tariff regime has boosted Cambodia’s competitiveness compared with ASEAN peers, particularly in the textile sector, putting it on par with Indonesia.

Cambodia’s exports to the U.S. include garments, travel goods, bicycles and other consumer products. American shipments to Cambodia consist mainly of automobiles, machinery, jewelry, cosmetics, electrical equipment and electronics.

In 2024, bilateral trade exceeded $10 billion, up 11% from 2023. Cambodian exports to the U.S. were valued at $9.91 billion, an increase of 11.4%, while U.S. imports into Cambodia stood at $264 million, up 2%.
