Cambodia hosts inaugural roundtable to boost green finance and investment

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Nov.12, 2025) — Cambodia is ramping up efforts to attract sustainable investment through its first Investor Roundtable on Sustainable Finance, held in Phnom Penh and co-hosted by the Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia (SERC), UNESCAP, GGGI, CGIF and CGCC.
The event brought together investors, financial institutions and project developers to connect capital with Cambodia’s expanding pipeline of green and social investment opportunities. It featured a Green Finance Pitch Session and an investor panel focused on risk mitigation and blended finance solutions for emerging markets.

SERC Director General Sou Socheat said the roundtable reflects Cambodia’s commitment to climate finance and regulatory innovation. “Green finance is not just a trend—it’s a strategic imperative. Through our green bond support program, we aim to unlock financing for projects that address Cambodia’s climate mitigation and adaptation priorities,” he said. “This includes renewable energy, clean transportation, smart agriculture, energy efficiency and green buildings.”
Socheat added that the initiative empowers Cambodian issuers to access capital markets and mobilize investments aligned with national climate goals.

Nathalie André, Country Representative of GGGI Cambodia, said transparency and adherence to international green standards are vital for attracting external investors. “The Green Bond framework is applicable to other international financial resources, including multilateral development banks,” she said.
The roundtable marks a key step in Cambodia’s journey toward a greener, more resilient economy.
