Cambodia pushes inclusive green finance to bolster climate resilience
PHNOM PENH, March 27, 2026 (KPT) – The Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (ARDB) has launched a drive to accelerate inclusive green finance, urging financial institutions to step up support for climate‑resilient and sustainable development.

ARDB chief executive Kao Thach presided over a national workshop in Phnom Penh on Wednesday, highlighting the role of banks and microfinance institutions in bridging the country’s green finance gap. The event was co‑organized with the Cambodia Microfinance Association and backed by partners including the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific, the Korean Development Bank, Mekong Strategic Capital and Water.org.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness, foster networking and promote investment in priority sectors. It also outlined the Cambodia Climate Finance Facility, designed to match demand and supply for green finance.

Around 75 participants joined in person and online, underscoring growing momentum to align Cambodia’s financial system with long‑term climate goals and sustainable growth.
