PHNOM PENH, April 5, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia is scaling up its “Visit Cambodia in the Green Season” campaign this year, aiming to boost domestic travel and attract more international visitors during the traditionally low tourism period, officials said Sunday.

The expansion was announced during a high-level meeting chaired by Tourism Minister Huot Hak, where stakeholders reviewed the results of the 2025 campaign and outlined action plans for 2026.

Around 150 participants attended the session, including government officials, provincial leaders, tourism authorities from all 25 provinces, and private sector representatives, underscoring a coordinated national effort to strengthen tourism performance.

Minister Hak said the campaign, first launched in 2025, had delivered encouraging results, prompting the government to continue and expand the initiative. Running from May to October, the “Green Season” campaign seeks to reposition Cambodia’s rainy season as an attractive travel period, highlighting lush natural landscapes, cultural experiences, and unique seasonal offerings.

Officials expressed confidence that the enhanced 2026 plan will stimulate domestic tourism while drawing more international arrivals, contributing to year-round growth in the sector.

The Ministry emphasized that the campaign is part of broader efforts to diversify tourism products, strengthen community-based initiatives, and ensure sustainable development across Cambodia’s destinations.
