MoT and Angkor Airport Investor Push New Tourism Products to Drive Growth
PHNOM PENH, April 6, 2026 (KPT) – Ministry of Tourism (MoT) and Angkor International Airport Investment (Cambodia) have agreed to set up a joint working group to accelerate investment projects and expand tourism offerings in Siem Reap, officials said Monday.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between Tourism Minister Huot Hak and Lu Wei, chairman of Angkor International Airport Investment, alongside company representatives and Chinese delegates. Discussions focused on developing new tourism products to strengthen Siem Reap’s appeal as a leading destination.

Hak praised the company’s continued confidence in Cambodia, particularly its investment in Siem Reap International Airport and plans to transform surrounding areas into a multifunctional hub for culture, tourism and commerce. He highlighted the introduction of innovative, high value-added tourism products supported by advanced technologies, many being introduced in Cambodia for the first time.
Both sides agreed the joint group will monitor project implementation, review tourism trends and track international arrivals and passenger traffic through Siem Reap airport. The initiative reflects Cambodia’s broader push to diversify tourism products, strengthen infrastructure and drive sustainable sector growth.
