Cambodia Launches Climate Technopreneurship Initiative to Scale Green Innovation
PHNOM PENH, April 6, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia has launched a regional programme to promote climate technopreneurship, aiming to help green technology businesses scale through global partnerships, technology transfer and access to finance, officials said Monday.
Funded by the Green Climate Fund through the Korea Development Bank, the initiative targets investment-ready enterprises with proven solutions, enabling them to expand commercially and enter new markets.

It is implemented by the Global Green Growth Institute, NH Investment & Securities, NH Absolute Return Partners and KDB, in partnership with Cambodia’s Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation and the Ministry of Environment.
Industry Minister Hem Vanndy said the programme would support small and medium-sized enterprises, while Environment Minister Eang Sophalleth stressed its role in achieving national climate goals.
A key feature is the Climate Technopreneurship Fund, a USD 200 million financing vehicle anchored by USD 83.75 million in first-loss equity from GCF to de-risk private investment. Officials said the programme will run through 2030, supporting 185 climate technology businesses across Southeast Asia, including at least 40 in Cambodia, while reducing emissions and promoting gender-inclusive enterprises.
