Chanthol highlighted the long-standing historical ties between the two countries, noting that cooperation has continued to grow and diversify. Richard pointed to the upcoming 20th Francophonie Summit, which Cambodia will host later this year, as an opportunity to expand collaboration.

The talks focused on promoting French foreign direct investment, with Richard pledging to facilitate business forums to connect French investors with Cambodian partners. Chanthol briefed the ambassador on Cambodia’s investment potential, including incentives under the Law on Investment and the strategic appeal of the Cambodia-United States Agreement on Reciprocal Trade. The discussions reflect a shared commitment to strengthening economic ties and encouraging major French corporations to expand operations in Cambodia.
