PHNOM PENH, April 9, 2026 (KPT) – Emirates Airlines has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Cambodia’s tourism sector and strengthening air connectivity through direct flights linking Phnom Penh and Siem Reap to Dubai and onward to the Middle East and global destinations, officials said Wednesday.

Tourism Minister Huot Hak met with Fahad Al Hassawi, Emirates’ representative in Cambodia, and his delegation to discuss ways the carrier could contribute more actively to Cambodia’s tourism promotion.

Fahad briefed the minister on the company’s operations, introduced the visiting team, and sought guidance on how Emirates could expand its role in supporting the Kingdom’s tourism industry.

Hak praised Emirates for its active participation in enhancing connectivity and showcasing Cambodia’s tourism potential by bringing visitors from around the world. He urged the airline to continue collaborative efforts, including producing promotional videos, organizing familiarization trips for international partners, and disseminating content through Emirates’ media channels to raise Cambodia’s profile globally.

Emirates currently operates daily flights between Dubai and Phnom Penh, with seven inbound and seven outbound services each week. The carrier also maintains three weekly flights in each direction connecting Dubai to Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI).

Founded in 1985, Emirates has played a significant role in linking Cambodia to international markets. Officials noted that Cambodia and the United Arab Emirates have enjoyed longstanding diplomatic relations and fruitful cooperation since 1994, with aviation ties seen as a vital bridge for tourism, trade and cultural exchange.

The ministry said strengthening connectivity with major hubs such as Dubai is essential to sustaining Cambodia’s tourism growth and diversifying its visitor base.
