Industry Ministry Urges Chakrey Ting to Expand Investment
KAMPOT, May 5, 2026 (KPT) —Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI) has urged Cambodia Cement Chakrey Ting Factory to expand investment, strengthen competitiveness and explore new opportunities in construction materials and exports, officials said Monday.
Industry Minister Hem Vanndy made the call during a visit to Huaxin Industrial Park (Cambodia), which includes the factory in Kampot province. Ke Hongwei, managing director of the park, highlighted Huaxin’s global operations and noted that the company reinvested in Chakrey Ting in 2012 to modernize facilities and expand production.

“Over the past decade, we have remained committed to long term investment in Cambodia, continuously improving product quality, efficiency and services to ensure a stable supply to the local market. We are also expanding into plaster and other construction materials,” Ke said.
Established in 1961 as Cambodia’s first cement plant, the facility has been transformed into an integrated industrial park supplying materials for major infrastructure projects nationwide.
Vanndy praised Huaxin’s long term commitment, urging expansion beyond the domestic market, fair competition and sustainable raw material supply. He encouraged deeper investment in R&D, including waste management and innovative reuse of materials, while the company announced plans to introduce new products and promote locally produced packaging bags.
