PHNOM PENH, May 15, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia has launched a new Manager’s Guide on Financial Services for Garment Workers, aimed at empowering garment workers and factory managers with access to formal financial services, officials said Friday.

The launch event was jointly organized by the International Labour Organization’s Better Factories Cambodia (ILO BFC), RISE, the Textile, Apparel, Footwear and Travel Goods Association in Cambodia (TAFTAC), and the Financial Consumer Protection Center (FCPC).

Addressing more than 100 participants, Toch Chaochek, Vice Chairman of the Association of Banks in Cambodia (ABC), said access to financial services is a catalyst for operational stability and productivity. He noted the guide will help managers understand service options, levels of involvement, and impacts on business operations.

Toch added the guide is designed to support workers in making informed decisions on financial planning, service selection, and dispute resolution. As an FCPC board member, he also highlighted the center’s role in protecting consumer rights, tackling over‑indebtedness, and promoting financial literacy. Workers were encouraged to contact the FCPC for consultation and dispute resolution with financial institutions.
