Senior EREX officials briefed the ambassador on the company’s projects in the kingdom, including an 80‑megawatt hydropower plant in Pursat Province expected to begin operations soon. The company said its initiatives have received strong backing from the Japanese government as part of broader efforts to support sustainable infrastructure and clean energy development.

Sounry welcomed EREX’s growing engagement and reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to promoting diversified and environmentally sustainable energy sources while strengthening national energy security. He also highlighted efforts to maintain a favorable climate for responsible, long‑term foreign investment.

Honna reaffirmed EREX’s strong interest in Cambodia and expressed readiness to explore further opportunities in renewable energy and related sectors. Both sides emphasized Cambodia’s significant potential for biomass energy development using agricultural and forestry resources, which could support rural growth, create jobs and contribute to environmental sustainability.
