SIEM REAP, June 12, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia is preparing to welcome hundreds of international delegates, youth leaders and supporters for two major global gatherings of the Girl Guiding movement, officials said Thursday.

The Kingdom will host the 39th World Conference of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and the 42nd Annual Meeting of the Olave Baden‑Powell Society (OB‑PS) in Siem Reap from June 14 to 19. The Girl Guides Association of Cambodia (GGAC) said the events mark a significant honor and reflect growing confidence in Cambodia’s ability to stage world‑class international meetings.

Organized under the theme “We See, We Care, We Act,” the conference will bring together leaders, young women, supporters and development partners to discuss the future of the global movement. The agenda will focus on leadership development, youth engagement and collective action to empower girls and young women worldwide.

Beyond official sessions, the gathering offers Cambodia an opportunity to showcase its hospitality and cultural heritage. Delegates will experience Khmer traditions, the renowned Angkor temples and a special Cambodia Night featuring traditional arts, cuisine and performances.

The GGAC extended a warm welcome to participants, emphasizing Cambodia’s commitment to fostering international cooperation and advancing opportunities for girls and young women through leadership, service and empowerment.
