Australia’s leading hospitality institute backs Cambodia’s plan to professionalize tourism workforce
PHNOM PENH, Jan 27, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia is moving to upgrade the quality of its tourism services with support from Australia’s William Angliss Institute, the country’s largest specialist center for culinary arts, tourism and hospitality training.
During talks in Phnom Penh on Monday, Wayne Crosbie, the institute’s director of international and business development, reaffirmed its commitment to assist the Ministry of Tourism in strengthening vocational education. He highlighted the institute’s role as a consulting partner for Cambodia’s tourism vocational schools.

The institute has previously helped develop curricula, training manuals and master trainers for campuses in Phnom Penh and Preah Sihanouk. Established in 1940, William Angliss Institute is internationally recognized for its hospitality and tourism programs, offering more than 140 courses.
Tourism Minister Huot Hak welcomed the institute’s contributions and recommendations, stressing the importance of building a skilled workforce to meet the demands of international visitors and raise service standards across the industry.
Crosbie also invited the minister to undertake a study visit to the institute in Australia, signaling prospects for deeper cooperation and knowledge exchange in the future.
