PHNOM PENH, March 12, 2026 (KPT) – Workers at a garment factory in Cambodia’s capital will return to work after a labour dispute was settled through government mediation, the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training said Thursday.

The dispute involved employees at Hen 7 Garment Factory, located along National Road No. 3 in Dangkor district. Workers had raised concerns over working conditions and company practices.

Ministry spokesperson Sun Mesa said the workers’ demands were fully addressed on March 11, allowing staff to resume duties the following morning.

“Under the prompt coordination and immediate attention from specialised officials, the concerns of the workers have been fully resolved, and the workers will return to their normal duties on 12 March 2026,” he said.

According to the ministry, discussions between the company and worker representatives resulted in agreement on 10 points.

These included commitments by management to comply with Cambodia’s labour law, adjust holiday leave days with workers’ consent, and instruct supervisors to use appropriate language in the workplace.

Officials said the intervention came shortly after authorities were informed of the dispute. Tuy Siphann, Secretary of State at the ministry, led a team to the factory to mediate.

The meeting brought together representatives from the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, the Phnom Penh Department of Labour and Vocational Training, local authorities, factory management and worker delegates.

The ministry said the swift resolution reflected its priority to address workers’ concerns and ensure their welfare.
