Prak Sokhonn Reaffirms Peaceful Approach to Border Disputes

PHNOM PENH, March 11, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia remains committed to resolving border disputes through peaceful means and strengthening good neighbourly relations, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn said.
Speaking at the close of the annual foreign affairs review conference, held March 5–6, Sokhonn stressed the need for a proactive foreign policy and stronger strategic communication to safeguard Cambodia’s neutrality, independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He said these priorities were essential to promoting peace, national unity and socio-economic development.
Addressing ties with neighbouring countries, Sokhonn reaffirmed Cambodia’s firm position of seeking peaceful solutions to border disputes in line with international law and bilateral agreements.
He added that Cambodia aims to build mutual trust, strengthen good neighbourly relations and promote “win-win” cooperation.
Sokhonn also underlined Cambodia’s ambition to play a more active role internationally as a law-abiding participant in global affairs.
Cambodia currently maintains diplomatic relations with 175 countries and operates 46 missions worldwide, while reaffirming its commitment to multilateralism and a rules-based international order.
