PHNOM PENH, Mar. 4, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia is pressing ahead with a $37.7 billion infrastructure programme designed to strengthen ASEAN supply chains and regional connectivity, Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol said Wednesday.

Speaking at the Cambodia–ASEAN Business Summit, Chanthol said the government has adopted the Comprehensive Intermodal Transport and Logistics System Master Plan 2023–2033, which sets out 174 projects to integrate roads, railways, waterways, ports, airports and logistics into a single national network.

“Future competitiveness will not belong to economies with isolated infrastructure assets,” he said. “It will belong to those that can connect them into efficient national and regional networks.”

Key projects already under way include the Phnom Penh–Sihanoukville Expressway, expansion of the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, new expressways linking Cambodia to neighbouring markets, and the Funan Techo Canal to improve maritime access. Aviation infrastructure is also being upgraded, with the new Techo International Airport set to expand passenger and cargo capacity.

Officials said the plan is central to Cambodia’s strategy of positioning itself as a logistics and manufacturing hub within ASEAN, where supply chain integration is increasingly vital.
