Cambodia marks National Culture Day with focus on youth

PHNOM PENH, March 3 (KPT) — Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet on Tuesday joined celebrations for Cambodia’s 28th National Culture Day, held under the theme “Youth for National Culture.”
The annual event highlights the importance of cultural heritage in supporting sustainable socio-economic development, while encouraging patriotism rooted in morality, equity and inclusiveness.
In a message posted on his official social media accounts, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said safeguarding and promoting national culture remained a priority for the Royal Government, reflected in policies such as the Pentagonal Strategy – Phase I adopted during the seventh National Assembly mandate.
He added that efforts were under way to strengthen Cambodia’s cultural profile internationally under the slogan “Cambodia: The Kingdom of Culture,” with the aim of enhancing soft power and building a vibrant, inclusive cultural ecosystem.
National Culture Day is observed each year to raise awareness of Cambodia’s diverse traditions, including those of indigenous communities, and to ensure their preservation for future generations.
