Cambodia and Lithuania Agree to Deepen Cooperation Across Key Sectors

PHNOM PENH, April 24, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia and Lithuania have agreed to strengthen bilateral ties and expand cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, energy and education during talks in Phnom Penh.

Prime Minister Hun Manet received Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys at the Peace Palace, where both sides discussed ways to broaden relations and encourage greater private sector engagement.

Budrys said his visit marked an important step in enhancing ties, noting significant untapped potential for cooperation. Hun Manet welcomed the visit as an opportunity to further strengthen relations for mutual benefit.

The two sides highlighted opportunities in processing industries, tourism, digital transformation and training. Energy cooperation featured prominently, with Lithuania sharing its experience in developing energy independence.

Cambodia outlined its energy priorities, noting that 62 percent of its power supply is clean energy, with a target of 70 percent by 2030.

Both countries said there was strong potential for collaboration in sustainable development and infrastructure.

They also exchanged views on regional and global issues, reaffirming support for international law, the UN Charter and peaceful dispute resolution.
