Cambodia and OIF review progress ahead of 2026 Francophonie Summit

PHNOM PENH, March 3, 2026 (KPT) – The Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) has pledged full support to ensure the success of the 20th Francophonie Summit, which Cambodia will host for the first time in 2026.
OIF Secretary-General Louise Mushikiwabo met Prime Minister Hun Manet at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh on Monday to review preparations.
In a statement after the talks, Mushikiwabo said she was pleased to return to Cambodia for an official visit and welcomed what she described as significant progress in organising the summit.
She reaffirmed the OIF’s commitment to working closely with Cambodian authorities, stressing the importance of the gathering for French-speaking nations and partner countries.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said Cambodia was honoured to host the event and thanked the OIF Secretariat for its support.
He highlighted preparations in logistics and security and announced three side events to accompany the summit: a Francophonie Business Forum, a Francophonie Village Exhibition and a Franco-Tech Exhibition.
