Phnom Penh Police Make History with Perfect Run to Claim Sar Kheng Cup
PHNOM PENH, March 1, 2026 (KPT) — The Phnom Penh Municipal Police volleyball team completed a flawless campaign to capture the 4th Sar Kheng Cup on Sunday, sweeping Koh Kong Provincial Police 3–0 in the final to secure their first-ever title.
The capital-based squad dominated from start to finish, winning all group-stage matches before dispatching every opponent in the knockout rounds without dropping a set.

In the Round of 16, they eased past Tbong Khmum 3–0, then stunned defending champions Svay Rieng in straight sets in the quarterfinals. A commanding semifinal win over Visakha set the stage for their decisive triumph against Koh Kong.
Phnom Penh Police maintained composure and attacking rhythm in the championship match, sealing a convincing 3–0 victory. Their historic run earned them a 50 million riel cash prize. Koh Kong finished runners-up with 20 million riel, while Visakha and Intervention Brigade No. 3 took third and fourth place respectively.
In the women’s division, Ak Samut edged Phnom Penh Police 3–2 in a tightly contested final to claim the championship.
Individually, Chan Veasna was named Most Valuable Player, underscoring Phnom Penh Police’s dominance throughout the tournament.
The victory marks a milestone for the capital’s police volleyball team and sets a new benchmark for future editions of the Sar Kheng Cup.
