Cambodia, Timor-Leste Advance Ties on Regional and Diplomatic Cooperation
SEOUL, Jan 30, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia and Timor-Leste have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations within ASEAN and regional frameworks, while pledging closer cooperation between their diplomatic missions.
The talks were held on January 29 during a courtesy call and working meeting between Khuon Phon Rattanak, Cambodia’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, and António de Sá Benevides, Timor-Leste’s Ambassador to Seoul.

Rattanak congratulated Timor-Leste on its accession as the 11th member of ASEAN in October 2025, praising the efforts of the Timorese government and people in achieving the milestone.
Both sides discussed ways to deepen ties within ASEAN and enhance collaboration between their embassies. The meeting also recalled a September 2025 agreement to reinforce cooperation, particularly in agriculture, with Cambodia’s growing role in regional and global food supply highlighted as a shared priority.
