PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Jan. 2, 2026) — Cambodia has launched a pilot program for a new digital immigration system known as the Cambodia v Pass, replacing physical passport stamps and QR stickers for foreign travelers entering or leaving the country.

The General Department of Immigration said the system applies to all foreign passengers arriving at or departing from Cambodia via international airports and seaports.

Immigration records will now be issued electronically, allowing travelers to access and download their v Pass information through official government channels.

Officials said the initiative is designed to streamline procedures, improve data accuracy and reduce reliance on paper based processes. The pilot program is part of the Royal Government’s Digital Socio Economic Development Policy and Pentagonal Strategy Phase 1, which prioritize modernizing public services and boosting efficiency.

Cambodia has gradually digitalized its border management systems in recent years, introducing electronic visas, online arrival forms and other tools to cut processing times.

Authorities said the v Pass will enhance security, simplify passenger flows and align Cambodia’s border controls with international digital travel standards. The rollout comes as regional travel in Southeast Asia continues to rebound, placing greater pressure on immigration services at airports and seaports.
