PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Dec. 15, 2025) — Cambodia confirmed Monday that flights between Phnom Penh, Bangkok and Siem Reap remain unaffected despite a temporary suspension of cross‑border land travel with Thailand.

Sinn Chansereyvutha, secretary of state and spokesperson for the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation, said the suspension applies only to land crossings and does not impact aviation services.

“Flights are operating as usual and in full compliance with national and international aviation regulations,” he said, adding that authorities will issue updates if conditions change.

Officials said the land border closures were imposed as a precaution to protect civilians amid escalating security risks along parts of the frontier.

The Ministry of National Defence rejected Thai media reports suggesting the move was intended to detain Thai citizens or restrict freedom of movement. Ministry spokesperson Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata called the allegations misinformation, saying the closures were limited to land and maritime checkpoints in conflict‑affected areas and aimed solely at safeguarding civilians from ongoing hostilities.
