Cambodia Wins Double Silver at World Esports Championship, Marking Historic Breakthrough

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Dec. 8, 2025) — Cambodia achieved its strongest‑ever performance on the global esports stage after both its men’s and women’s national teams won silver medals at the 2025 IESF World Esports Championship in Malaysia.

The women’s team topped Group C with victories over Mongolia and Colombia before advancing through the Lower Bracket. After defeating Türkiye, Malaysia, and Egypt, they reached the Grand Final, finishing runners‑up to Indonesia and earning $10,500 in prize money.

Cambodia’s men’s team also made history, reaching the Grand Final for the first time. They dominated the group stage with wins over Nepal, Belarus, and Dominica, then defeated Kazakhstan and Türkiye to secure a spot in the final. The team placed second after losing to Malaysia, collecting $19,500.

The twin silver medals mark a milestone for Cambodia’s fast‑rising esports scene and position the country as an emerging force in regional and global digital sports.
