NBC Brings Global Investment Leaders to Cambodia to Help Financial Sector Navigate Volatility
PHNOM PENH, July 21, 2026 (KPT) – The National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) has convened leading global investment firms and the country’s financial community at its Global Financial Market Forum to help institutions manage volatility and identify opportunities amid an uncertain global economy.
Held in Phnom Penh on Sunday under the theme “Navigating Market Turbulence: Reassessing Risks and Investment Opportunities”, the forum was opened by NBC Governor Dr. Chea Serey and drew around 260 participants, including officials from the central bank, ministries, public institutions, private sector organisations and financial institutions.

In her opening remarks, Serey said global market developments increasingly influence Cambodia’s financial conditions, underscoring the need for timely intelligence to guide decision‑making. She said the forum was designed to give Cambodia’s financial community direct access to international experts, enabling participants to reassess risks and identify new opportunities.
Keynote presentations and panel discussions featured experts from the NBC and global asset managers including BNP Paribas Asset Management, J.P. Morgan Asset Management and BNY Investments.
Officials said the forum reflects the NBC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Cambodia’s financial sector by fostering knowledge sharing, improving risk management and enhancing institutional capacity to respond to global market fluctuations.
