PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Nov.26,2025) — Cambodia’s Secretariat of the National Border Affairs Committee said Wednesday that joint survey teams with Thailand have made further progress in marking sections of the frontier.

From Nov. 19 to 26, mixed technical teams carried out field operations along a 7‑kilometer stretch between Boundary Posts 42 and 43 in Prey Chan village, Banteay Meanchey province.

Drone‑based aerial photography for a photomap has been completed, with ground surveys and provisional markers set to continue. A second phase of work, conducted Nov. 8 to 26 in Battambang province, covered 8.3 kilometers between Boundary Posts 52 and 59.

The Secretariat said teams finished surveying the area and installed 166 provisional markers, with drone mapping operations to follow. Officials described the activities as part of a gradual process toward full demarcation of the land boundary.

They said the work is being carried out with “the highest level of caution and responsibility,” based on historical documents from the French Protectorate period, including the 1908‑09 Indochina‑Siam boundary reports, the 1919‑20 Boundary Marker Commission, and subsequent agreements.

The Secretariat urged public confidence in the Royal Government and the Cambodia Joint Border Commission, saying both bodies are acting in line with international law and principles of territorial integrity.
