PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Nov. 25, 2025) — Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underscored the government’s commitment to professionalism, responsibility and the country’s supreme national interest in managing border disputes with Thailand, following a temporary agreement on certain sections of the frontier.

The agreement covers areas between boundary markers 42–47 in Banteay Meanchey province and 52–59 in Battambang province.

“I appeal to all Cambodian citizens to place their trust in the Royal Government in resolving border disputes and conducting demarcation with Thailand,” Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said.

“Cambodia consistently adheres to the highest standards of professionalism, prioritizing the supreme national interest, particularly the protection of territorial integrity and national sovereignty.”

He reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to international law, the principle of unchanged borders and the boundary lines established by the Indo-China–Siam Boundary Commission.

He stressed that disputes must be resolved through peaceful negotiation, not violence or military force. Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said joint surveying teams from both countries will conduct temporary surveys and place markers along the agreed sections.

He clarified the exercise is intended to establish the boundary line on the ground, not to calculate land gains or losses, and will rely on historical legal documents and international law.

The prime minister added that Cambodia respects the sovereignty of neighboring countries but will not allow violations of its own territorial integrity. He said the surveys aim to resolve longstanding disputes, restore stability for border communities and safeguard national sovereignty.
