PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Nov. 10, 2025) — King Norodom Sihamoni has donated two royal properties to the Cambodian government for preservation as national museums and heritage sites, honoring the legacy of the late King-Father Norodom Sihanouk and the royal lineage of Cambodia.

In a royal message dated Nov. 8, the King expressed his “heartfelt joy” in transferring the Royal Cremation Site and the Royal Burial Site—both located in Village 3, Chatomuk Commune, Daun Penh District, Phnom Penh—for long-term preservation.

The Royal Cremation Site, covering 2,843 square meters, is to be transferred immediately and maintained as a National Museum and National Heritage Property. The King described it as a “sacred legacy honoring His Majesty King Norodom Sihanouk, the Father of the Nation.”

The Royal Burial Site, spanning 3,539 square meters, will be handed over following the King’s passing and preserved as a heritage landmark “serving as a lasting legacy of my reign,” he wrote.

In a joint response, Hun Sen, president of the Supreme Privy Council, and Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed “profound joy and eternal gratitude,” pledging to preserve both sites and reaffirming their “highest loyalty” to the monarch. The letter also offered prayers for the King’s health, longevity, and continued reign.
