PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Nov.03,2025) — The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training has helped more than 27,000 Cambodian workers, including many returning from Thailand, secure employment as part of a nationwide effort to expand job opportunities, Minister Heng Sour said.

Speaking at the 2025 National Job and Productivity Fair on Koh Pich (Diamond Island), Sour said the ministry had coordinated approximately 46,000 job vacancies across the country as of October. More than 27,000 workers have since been placed in jobs.

To address global shifts such as digitalization and automation, Sour urged stronger collaboration among public and private stakeholders, enterprises, institutions and individual workers to enhance productivity through improved technical and vocational education and training.

Held under the theme “Pathway to Productivity: Connecting Skills, Technology, and Job Opportunities,” the two-day fair featured 187 booths and drew support from about 150 companies, ministries, institutions and training centers. Employers offered more than 30,000 job openings.

The event was co-organized by the National Employment Agency, the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia Phnom Penh, the Textile, Apparel, Footwear & Travel Goods Association in Cambodia, the Skills Development Fund and the Korea International Cooperation Agency, in partnership with the International Labour Organization.
