Cambodian Labor Minister Calls for Unified Push to Boost Productivity
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Nov.03, 2025)— Minister of Labour and Vocational Training Heng Sour urged all sectors to join forces in improving Cambodia’s labor productivity and enhancing the global competitiveness of locally made products.

Speaking at the 2025 National Job and Productivity Fair last weekend, Sour said coordinated efforts are needed from government institutions, private enterprises, and individual workers.
He emphasized the private sector’s role in streamlining supply chains, adopting international standards, and delivering targeted skills training.
At the enterprise level, Sour encouraged companies to foster innovation, embrace flexibility, and invest in technology to stay competitive.
He also called on workers to pursue lifelong learning and adapt to rapid technological changes, noting that trade unions can support skill development and promote harmonious labor relations.
“Strengthening technical, vocational, and technological capabilities is key to transforming Cambodia’s workforce into a high-productivity labor force,” Heng said, citing global trends such as digitalization and automation.
The fair featured more than 30,000 job openings and included career development talks aimed at raising productivity awareness among job seekers.
