PARIS, France (Oct. 30, 2025) — Cambodian National Assembly President Khuon Sudary has urged the international community to actively support and monitor the implementation of the newly signed Cambodia–Thailand Peace Agreement, calling it a vital step toward lasting regional stability.

Speaking at the Paris Peace Forum, Samdech Sudary said the accord, signed on Oct. 26 in Kuala Lumpur, marked significant progress but warned that “the process ahead remains a long and challenging journey.” She called on global partners to remain engaged and encourage both sides to honor their commitments.

The roundtable discussion, themed “Fragmentation and Confrontation: The Changing Geopolitical Landscape in Asia,” brought together lawmakers, diplomats, and policy experts.

Samdech Sudary thanked U.S. President Donald Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for mediating the peace process and witnessing the signing.

Reaffirming Cambodia’s commitment to neutrality and non-alignment, she said the country has no interest in conflict and remains constitutionally barred from hosting foreign military bases. Cambodia has deployed more than 10,000 peacekeepers under UN missions, including over 800 women.

“Cambodia seeks to be a friend to all countries and an enemy to none,” she said, emphasizing ASEAN’s role as a stabilizing force and cornerstone of Cambodia’s foreign policy.
