Cambodian King Congratulates China on 76th Anniversary of Founding
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Oct.01, 2025) — On the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni extended warm congratulations to Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Chinese government and the people of China, reaffirming the strong and enduring friendship between the two nations.

In his message, King Sihamoni said he was proud to join Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, the royal family and the Cambodian people in celebrating the milestone in China’s modern history.
He conveyed greetings and congratulations to Xi and, through him, to the Communist Party of China, the State Council, the People’s Liberation Army and the Chinese people.
The king highlighted the significance of the military parade held in Beijing on Sept. 3, describing it as a testament to China’s achievements in modernization, national defense and technological advancement.
He said it was a privilege to attend the celebration at Tiananmen Square for the second time, alongside global leaders, witnessing unity, discipline and strength that reflect China’s commitment to peace and prosperity.
King Sihamoni reaffirmed Cambodia’s pride in its long-standing, “ironclad” friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership with China. He emphasized the continued growth of bilateral relations, built on mutual trust, solidarity and shared aspirations for peace and development.
He also expressed confidence that under Xi’s leadership, the “all-weather friendship and community with a shared future” between the two countries would continue to strengthen and contribute to regional and global harmony.
The king expressed appreciation for the meeting with Xi on Aug. 26 at Zhongnanhai and for the hospitality extended during his visit to China for medical checkups.
King Sihamoni and Queen Mother Monineath expressed gratitude to Xi and First Lady Peng Liyuan for their kindness and care.
