PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Sept. 27, 2025) — Prime Minister Hun Manet on Thursday received a courtesy and farewell call from Jyotsana Varma, the Asian Development Bank’s country director for Cambodia, at the Peace Palace.

Varma expressed gratitude to Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet for taking time from his schedule to meet with her and her colleagues. She thanked the Cambodian government for its trust and support in fostering a strong partnership with the ADB, and praised the cooperation extended by ministries and institutions across the country.

She said she was pleased to have helped strengthen the ADB-Cambodia partnership and contribute to the country’s socio-economic development.

Varma also briefed the prime minister — formally titled Samdech Borvor Thipadei — on achievements and ongoing projects in priority sectors such as education, water resources, agriculture, vocational training and rural development.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet commended Varma’s contributions and the ADB’s longstanding support for Cambodia’s development planning and strategic frameworks.

He congratulated her on the completion of her mission and highlighted the bank’s role in helping Cambodia prepare for its graduation from Least Developed Country status in 2029.

Before concluding, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet reaffirmed the government’s continued support for the ADB and encouraged further cooperation with Cambodian ministries and institutions to advance new development goals.
