Hun Manet to Meet Xi Jinping, Attend SCO+ Summit in China

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss efforts to strengthen and deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and Win-Win Cooperation between the two countries.

Hun Manet is also expected to meet with several other foreign leaders to explore ways to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation.

He will lead a high-level delegation to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Plus Summit in Tianjin, China, from Aug. 30 to Sept. 1, at the invitation of Xi, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced Saturday.

The delegation will include Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn; Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia Sun Chanthol; senior government officials; and representatives from the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and the Cambodian Oknha Association.

The summit, hosted under China’s rotating presidency, will bring together leaders from more than 20 countries and 10 international organizations to discuss multilateral cooperation, regional security and sustainable development.

Hun Manet is scheduled to deliver remarks on the summit’s theme: “Implementing Multilateralism, Ensuring Regional Security and Promoting Sustainable Development.”
