PHNOM PENH, March 16, 2026 (KPT) – Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Hang Chuon Naron has called on public and private schools to expand the use of digital technology to modernize teaching, learning and school management.

Speaking at the annual General Assembly and 2025 awards ceremony of the Education Services Federation, Naron said the initiative is aimed at improving education quality in line with the demands of a digital society.

“Artificial intelligence is transforming daily life and work in the 21st century,” he noted, while stressing that teachers’ skills and experience remain irreplaceable.

He urged private schools to collaborate with educational institutions to adopt innovative approaches that foster analytical thinking and resilience, ensuring balanced intellectual, physical, moral and creative growth among students.

Naron added that the ministry’s school transformation program applies to both public and private institutions, underscoring the need for equity and high quality education.

He also praised the private sector’s contributions and expressed gratitude for its support to educators affected by past border conflicts.
